Review
The first film, Smile 1, felt much stronger in comparison. The main character in this film is not very likable or relatable, and a focus on Joel might have made the story more interesting.
The film relies heavily on jump scares, and the hallucination sequences feel excessive. This makes the experience frustrating at times, especially as the internal rules of the story seem inconsistent.
There is also a lack of new information about the central entity, which reduces the sense of mystery and interest. The characters overall do not leave a strong impression.
Compared to the first film, this one feels weaker and less effective, failing to reach the same level of impact.
