Anushka Sharma’s ‘Chakda Xpress’ Release in Talks as Makers Appeal to Netflix 🏏🎬

Anushka Sharma’s long-awaited comeback film, ‘Chakda Xpress’, might finally see the light of day as the makers have reportedly approached Netflix to release the project. The Jhulan Goswami biopic, completed in 2022, was delayed due to creative disagreements and budget overruns.
Following the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic victory, the film’s producers have renewed discussions with Netflix executives, urging them to reconsider the release. A source revealed, “A biopic on a legend like Jhulan di deserves to reach the audience.”
The report suggests that internal dissatisfaction at Netflix over the final cut and production costs led to the delay. However, with public sentiment high after the team’s recent win, optimism about the film’s release has resurfaced. “Internal talks have resumed, and Netflix is expected to take a final call this month,” insiders said.
Directed by Prosit Roy, ‘Chakda Xpress’ chronicles the inspiring journey of Jhulan Goswami — from a small-town girl to one of India’s most celebrated fast bowlers. The film also marks Anushka Sharma’s first major screen appearance since 2018’s ‘Zero’.
Currently, Netflix retains the streaming rights, and fans eagerly await an official update on when Anushka will finally return to screens.
